Gopika Dilip – Naveen Prasad Engagement

Dilip Nair, whom we call Dilip uncle with love is one of our early clients and a dear well wisher. Meeting him at a friend’s daughter’s birthday was just a coincidence. But, what followed really changed the fortune of VikhyathMedia.

It was the time when VikhyathMedia, so to speak, got officially named and established. Dilip uncle wanted to take some pictures of her elder daughter Anjana to post in matrimony sites, as they were looking for a suitable alliance for her. We still do not know why he contacted us for the photoshoot and wanted none other than us to take the pictures. Fortunately, the images were a success and a handsome hunk, Mithun Nair became anjana’s lifetime hero.

As we shot the engagement and wedding of Anjana, we built a strong relationship with not only just Dilip uncle, but his wife Sreedevi auntie and their younger daughter Gopika. In the course of time Gopika became the model for our friend’s boutique, Alika.

Dilip uncle has always been very encouraging and motivating. He stood by us in the years that followed. We covered his niece’s wedding as well. He introduced us to more clients and referred us to many of his friends.

After almost four years of friendship, the time came for Gopika to get married. History repeats and we took her portraits too. Her engagement with Naveen Prasad was more of a family event than a client’s assignment. Energetic Gopika and handsome Naveen had a great time during their engagement on 27th Nov, 2015 at S P Grand Days Hotel, Trivandrum.

We look forward to have an amazing time covering this wonderful family on her wedding in July, 2016.

Sowmya – Rajesh Wedding Story

We meet individuals, but make relationship with families. The marriages of Vinita and Sowmya are one big example of that fact. Hari Mahesh has been a long time friend of ours and some 7 years back we covered his wedding with Suvitha in Trivandrum. After years, when it was time for Hari’s sister-in-law’s wedding, he chose none other than Vikhyathmedia. Vinita and Amit’s wedding was more of a two states story where the North met the South and was truly multicultural. We did narrate this story in an earlier blog.

Chennai became a lover’s paradise for Soumya, their cousin as well. Along with career and fortune that was waiting for her, there was a love for a lifetime that followed. Sowmya and Rajesh met, fell in love and decided to get married in this beautiful metro.

A pure kerala hindu wedding took place on October, 2015 at two different venues. Guruvayoor Sree Krishna Temple was the first venue. With the blessings of Lord Krishna, the duo drove down to Attingal to have an elaborate wedding there.

Sowmya being a bubbly and smart person, shooting with her was effortless and entertaining as well. She had no qualms in posing before the camera. Her brothers and her cousins also joined for the shoot to give some wonderful happy family moments. Rajesh joined us on the wedding day and gave some lovely shots with his sweet heart.

It is always individuals to meet us for their wedding coverage. But building a rapport with the families leave us with hundreds of amazing pictures, great emotions attached and friendship for a lifetime. team VikhyathMedia wishes Soumya and Rajesh a wonderful married life ahead. You guys are amazing. Keep up the love and chemistry throughout the journey of your life.

Amith and Anita

On a very regular day, Amith called us with a reference of his friend. He was in a hurry to meet us and we met him in a restaurant that evening.

One thing specific about Amith was that he was very clear about what he wanted and how he wanted. That made our job easier. Assigning photographers and videographers was easier in that way. He wanted candid pictures and we were more than happy to do so.

Thus our first Christian wedding after being officially recognized as a company happened. The betrothal ceremony was held at Vivanta by Taj on 27 Dec 2013. The photographs were well covered and we could give him the album a day before his wedding on 11 Jan 2014.
A serene wedding ceremony at the church and the reception followed in Trivandrum Club was a treat to the eyes. Many eminent personalities of the city attended the wedding and showered their blessings to the newlyweds.

We wish Amith and Anita a wonderful and happy life ahead!

Brahmin weddings are fun!

Brahmin weddings are fun!  They embody colours, music, dance, rituals happiness and what not.

We have known the Easwar family for long and a marriage in that family was a time of joy for us too. Ganesh and Sowmya are siblings and their marriages were held within a gap of 3 months.

Traditional Tamil Brahmin weddings last for a week with all the rituals. But, nowadays, people tend to shorten it to two days according to their convenience. But Sowmya’s father was very particular about it and he wanted his daughter’s marriage to be held in the traditional way. Thus the wedding lasted a week and that was indeed a carnival.

Though the pooja and other rituals started a week before, the celebrations started two days before the wedding- the Eve of Mehendi. Sowmya’s hands and toes were clad with Mehendi designs and she looked awesome in it. All the invitees took part in the Mehendi ceremony and got themselves decorated with Mehendi.

The main celebrations started next day with Kappukettu. Yogesh the bride groom was made to reach the wedding venue, Trivandrum Club with all grandeur. Ganesh, Sowmya’s brother welcomed him and accompanied him for the pooja. Sowmya, dressed up in traditional Tamil attire was brought for pooja. Both the families sat in front of the yagaagni for Kappu kettu. This was followed by a sumptuous lunch.

The reception at the evening was treat to the eyes. The venue was decorated with flowers and the walkway had stalls with gifts for the invitees. The ambience was so much filled with music, dance and colours that it was not less than any grand mela.

The wedding ceremony started early morning with kashi yathra. The idea behind this ritual is that the boy is starting for kashi after he completes his studies and Brahmacharya. The girl’s father stops him on the way and tells him the importance of wedded life and offers his daughter as the boy’s life partner. Thus the groom is called back and the girl and boy exchanges garlands. The women in the family puts them in an unjal, sings and dances around them.
Sowmya and Yogesh were then brought back for pooja. They were given the traditional dresses to wear for the wedding ceremony. Sowmya wore the traditional 16 yards red saree and Yogesh, the dhoti.

In front of a thousand invitees, Yogesh tied the knot for lifetime on Sowmya. They performed the rituals around grinding stone and Agni.

After Griha Pravesh, it was the time for fun for the bride and groom, called Nalungu. From rolling coconut to adorning each other with haldi and sindoor, the good times goes on. They fed each other sweet pudding and thus ends the ceremony.

Wedding at Guruvayoor

Renjith and Sanjana got married at Guruvayoor temple on 19 April 2013. A grand wedding ceremony took place at Lulu Convention Centre, Thrissur after the thalikettu. Adding glitter to the elegant wedding function, the parents of the bride – groom were keen enough to showcase the art and culture of Kerala to their guests from Middle East.
Sanjana Krishna, the gorgeous bride was taken to the wedding stage on a palanquin accompanied by a set of dancers. As in fairy tales, the groom came in a horse cart with four white horses. As they exchanged garlands, the stage literally became a paradise. All the guests showered their blessings and the whole place was filled with flowers.

The beautiful bride and handsome groom was fun to shoot with. The candid photos taken by Vikhyath Media at this function are remarkable too.

The treat for eyes continued at the reception held at the Groom’s Place. 5D’s Event Management team meticulously took care of each detail of the decoration and food. Vikhyathmedia’s experienced and creative candid photographers and Videographers made sure every moment of this joyous occasion is well captured and beautifully presented.

It was a great experience capturing this wedding for 5D’s Event Management team, Trivandrum.
