Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

General & Approach

  1. What sets you apart from other wedding photographers in Kerala?

As a husband and wife team, we bring a level of intimacy and personal connection to our work that other studios may not. We understand the importance of capturing the special moments between a couple on their big day and we take great care in getting to know our clients and their specific needs. Additionally, Kiran’s technical expertise and experience as an IT professional allows us to stay up-to-date on the latest photography technology and techniques, ensuring that we are always providing the highest quality images to our clients. We have a unique approach to capturing candid moments and our team is experienced in shooting in different cultures and religions. We pride ourselves on being one of the best destination wedding photographers in Kerala.

  2. What’s your style?

Our style of wedding photography is a mix of candid, traditional, and photojournalistic. We aim to capture the natural emotions and candid moments of the wedding day, while also creating timeless and classic portraits. Our photography is a blend of traditional and contemporary styles, ensuring that our clients receive a mix of both.

  3. How many years of experience do you have in wedding photography and how many weddings have you photographed?

VikhyathMedia was founded in 2011 by Kiran and Devu, a husband and wife duo. Kiran fell in love with photography in a very young age and began his photography journey assisting at his uncle’s photo studio, and quickly became the go-to photographer for college events and friends’ weddings. With their wedding, Kiran and Devu decided to incorporate VikhyathMedia, and thus started a new era of candid wedding photography in Trivandrum. Since then, they have had the privilege of capturing more than 500 love stories across the world and look forward to being a part of many more. We have experience with a wide range of wedding styles and are constantly in awe of the beauty and grandeur of Indian weddings.

  4. What inspired you to start a wedding photography business?

We have always been passionate about photography and capturing special moments. As a husband and wife duo, we found that our unique combination of skills – my husband’s technical expertise in photography and my background in communication – made us the perfect team to start a wedding photography business. We wanted to create beautiful, timeless images that couples could treasure for a lifetime.

  5. Can you tell us about your location and availability for destination weddings?

Our home base is located in Kerala, India, but we are more than willing to travel to your wedding destination, whether it’s within the country or abroad. We have experience capturing weddings in places like Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Dubai, and the United States.

  6. Who will be the photographer for my wedding?

Our team of 12 in-house professionals includes experienced photographers, cinematographers, editors, and designers. Your lead photographer on the day of your wedding will be either Kiran or a Senior Director. We offer a range of customizable packages to fit the unique requirements and budget of your wedding. 7. Do you shoot both “sides” of a wedding only?

No. In fact, we recommend hiring us to shoot both the groom’s and the bride’s side of the wedding. Having two separate teams for the same event is unnecessary and would be a waste of resources. Our in-house team is equipped to handle the entirety of your wedding photography needs.

  8. Is it possible for me to choose only photography or videography services, or to hire another photography team in addition to your services?

Sure, you have the option to choose only photography or videography packages, or hire another photography team. However, we suggest opting for our full package to ensure consistency and cohesiveness in your wedding’s visual story. Having multiple teams working on your wedding can create conflicting perspectives and result in inconsistent final products.

  9. Do you deliver all the images you shoot in RAW?

At a standard two-day destination wedding, we typically capture between 10,000 to 15,000 images from 2 Photographers, depending on the length of the wedding. We carefully review each image and select only those that are technically sound and align with our creative vision for your wedding. Our high rejection rate ensures that only the best images are delivered to you, without any unflattering expressions or technical errors. As we are using an AI powered tool for culling the images, you can trust that we will not miss any important memories from your special day.

  10. Can I receive all of the unedited photos taken during my wedding without any filtering or selection process?

As a standard practice, we do not provide all the raw, unedited images taken during your wedding. However, if you wish to have access to them, please let us know and we will arrange for the transfer of all the images to your preferred storage device.

  1. What is the recommended duration for photo sessions on our wedding day?

On your wedding day, we recommend allocating a specific amount of time for taking photographs. This will ensure that you have a lasting record of your special day, even though the schedule may be hectic and uncertain. We suggest dedicating an hour for taking portraits and after you have changed into your wedding attire. These photographs will be treasured memories for years to come, so it is important to make sure they are captured.
